Stitch and Glue Boat Plans

Plans for stitch and glue plywood boat designs. This method of boat building uses precisely cut plywood panels "stitched" together with wire to form the shape of the boat. The geometry of the plywood shapes when joined together define the 3 dimensional shape of the boat. With the plywood wired together, the seams between the panels is "glued" with epoxy. The whole thing is covered with transparent fiberglass cloth inside and out to make a beautiful wooden boat.

These original designs were created by Nick Schade, based on a lifetime of boating and boat building. A well designed stitch and glue boat is like an amazing piece of origami. It takes flat sheets of plywood and converts them into a sculptural form that performs well on the water and looks spectacular on land
